We chose this piece during our Tucson sourcing trip because of its soft glow and incredible natural formation. This Halite comes from the dry bed of ancient Searles Lake, in Trona, California—a place rock nerds know and love for its remarkable mineral deposits.
 
Long before it became part of the Mojave Desert, this region was covered by mineral-rich waters that slowly evaporated, leaving behind some of the most unusual and colorful mineral deposits in North America.
 
There’s a lightness to it—both in color and presence. It doesn’t demand attention, but it doesn’t disappear either. It settles into a space and quietly holds it together.
