Instead of the usual cube, this one shows up with eight triangular faces. Same material, just a different move. That octahedral shape forms naturally as the crystal grows under the right conditions. Pyrite itself is an iron sulfide, created when iron and sulfur come together in mineral-rich environments—often through hydrothermal activity or within sediment layers over time. You’ll find pieces like this coming out of places like Peru, Spain, and parts of the U.S.
 
The gold color? Still there. But those angled faces change the whole feel—light hits it from all directions, so it’s got more depth and a little more attitude than the standard cube.
