Instead of the usual cube, this Pyrite grows with eight triangular faces, creating what’s known as an octahedral form. It happens naturally under the right conditions as the crystal develops. Pyrite itself is an iron sulfide, formed when iron and sulfur come together in mineral-rich environments—often through hydrothermal activity or within sediment layers over time.
 
Those angled faces change how the light hits it, giving that classic metallic gold color a little more movement and depth than the flatter cube shape.
