Straight from the ground to jujujems … with a little cleaning along the way! No fancy polishing, no unnecessary fuss, just Mother Nature showing off her handiwork.
This natural Selenite specimen was personally collected and carefully cleaned by us, preserving its original formation and character. Its delicate layers of translucent crystal display soft white, pale blush, and subtle earthy tones, creating an appearance that changes as light passes across the surface. The uneven edges, overlapping crystal layers, and natural openings give this piece an intriguing texture that makes it interesting from nearly every angle.
Unlike the familiar white, fibrous Satin Spar often sold under the name Selenite, this specimen showcases the more transparent to translucent crystalline form of Gypsum. Its layered structure and naturally irregular shape offer a different perspective on a mineral that many people recognize but may never have seen in this form.
Selenite is often associated with cleansing, clarity, and spiritual awareness. It is believed to help clear unwanted energy, encourage mental focus, and create a peaceful atmosphere. Many people place Selenite in meditation spaces, near other crystals, or in areas where they want to encourage a sense of balance and harmony.
It is also connected to intuition, emotional wellbeing, and personal renewal. Traditionally associated with the Crown Chakra, Selenite is believed to encourage reflection, promote a clearer perspective, and support a greater sense of connection to one's surroundings.
Geologically, Selenite is a crystalline variety of Gypsum, a calcium sulfate mineral that commonly forms when mineral-rich water evaporates. Under suitable conditions, Gypsum develops transparent or translucent crystals with distinctive cleavage planes that allow it to separate into thin layers. Its delicate structure and natural luster make it a fascinating mineral specimen, particularly when preserved in its original, unpolished form.
NOTE: Selenite is a delicate mineral that deserves a little extra TLC. Because it is soft and sensitive to moisture, it's best kept dry and handled gently to protect its natural crystal layers. Avoid water, cleaning solutions, and prolonged exposure to humidity to help preserve its appearance.

One care consideration: Because genuine Selenite is soft and moisture-sensitive, I'd recommend keeping it dry and handling it gently. That's particularly important for a personally collected specimen with exposed crystal layers.
